How to set a spawn point in my Minecraft server?

I have a port-forwarded server for Minecraft and I need to know how to set a spawn point for all players that join the game. I have tried putting a pressure plate on the automated spawn point so players will tp to the spawn point I want but the spawn point is actually in a certain radius.

How do I set a spawn point for all players who join the server?

Install Essentials and Essentials Spawn if you have Bukkit then stand at the location and use /set spawn
After that everyone will spawn at the location.
