How to make Minecraft Server?

How to make a Minecraft server without A host. I want to host it on my own internet. Like with my IP. And I also need help getting a static IP i have a Belkin router and Cox internet.

We're not going to set up a server for you.

1. Follow the instructions at http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/. If it says your internet won't be able to handle at least 5 people, don't bother following any more of the instructions. It's not worth it, your server will lag like hell. Otherwise, continue on.
2. You need to download the server software from www.minecraft.net and run that
3. Go to http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm, find your router manufacturer and model, then click Minecraft in the list of games that appears. Follow those instructions.
4. Call your ISP and ask for a static IP. Chances are they won't just give one to you. You'll probably need to upgrade your internet to a business connection, which often costs more. Have fun with that.

If you're having troubles with actually hosting the server or port forwarding, use Google and search around first. Someone, somewhere has already had the same problem you're having, and a solution will be somewhere online. People get annoyed when you ask about obvious problems that have a thousand websites with the solutions available already.
