I'm dying to make a Minecraft server and haven't been on in a while. Is it different for each update or the same? Last time I made a server, something happened to where It would only work when my friend was at my house using my internet, and then it would restart a lot of the times. I want a server for over the summer, so any good instructions I can try?

You were probably either using a lan network or hosting you own server off your computer, either way they arent very good ways of making a server, if you're looking for a server with a small player number for you and your friends to play on may i recommend this one?
