I was wondering if there's a way to host your own website, like with a server. I know you can host minecraft servers with a server but can you use a server to host a public server?

Yes, but you need a public IP address, most ISP's charge extra for you to have the required server to run a website, my suggestion is to just pay for someone to host your site for you, or if you are a business contact an IT company and they will be able to walk you through what you need, but be prepared to dish out lots of money, the equipment and software is not cheap at all.
