I don't want to be charged extra on my internet bill for having a website host a minecraft server for me. Anyone know the answer to this?
Do minecraft servers you host using a server host, take from your internet usage?
No it will not AFFECT your internet usage.
The server will be connected by someone else's internet - they will be paying the bills.
You will only be charged for the internet you use at home, not what machines are run somewhere else.
Internet charges are usually calculated as total UPLOAD AND DOWNLOAD YOUR doing with your own devices.
So you don't own the server, its not in your home - you won't be charged for anything it does.
Go ahead and host your minecraft server - it won't cost you anything. May affect your internet speed though - if your internet isn't that quick.
If you have a server host your server, it will not affect your internet usage. They host the server on their computers and it affects their internet/electricity bill. Your internet will only be used to connect to the server to logon, like everybody else. You won't be used for hosting the server.
