I really like this Minecraft server, and I would like to be op on it. I read the bans and it says most people were banned for "Hacking in KitPVP". I don't want to be banned from my favorite server! How do you get OP without hacking or asking? I would like an answer!

The short answer, create your own server. Only an admin, or someone with OP already, can make you OP. Therefore unless you make your own server (and more than likely make yourself an admin on it) you can only become OP by someone giving you OP.
That generally requires asking.

Play on that server a lot and be active. Help out and be pro active. Over time ask the owner if you can fill out a staff application or what ever they do on that server.

Get to know the admins, be involved in any decision making. Be respectful to all players. Only admins can op you, and depending on their plans and designs for the server, they may not want a bunch of opped people flying around.
Unless you want to go through the hassle of making your own server (I maintain a personal server for me and my friends, and it can be a real pain).
