Alight, so I started my Minecraft server at least two years ago. I advertised on PMC Minestatus, and everything else.
I mean EVERYTHING. Be it Facebook, Twitter, Minecraft Servers, or whatever.
So it got only a couple players, and some of those (most of them) were just friends from other servers.
So eventually, (keep in mind I do home hosting) the server computer I was using, basically exploded. Just outta the blue. So later, I got a new computer for it, around 6 months later, and that was about 3 months ago.
So I got most of the people I got from my old Minecraft server from PMC, but I bump the submission for my post every day, and NO ONE JOINS. I have a good banner, but literally, nobody, not even ONE gets on after bumping the PMC submission.
My server is a Survival and Creative server. I have a plugin called Multiverse that allows me to have a PlotMe creative world, and a spawn world, and a survival world all at the same time. All the players I got so far from PMC and such, leave after I deny giving them OP. But only one or two have stayed.
I have checked dozens of threads of how to expand my playerbase, and I follow each and every one of them.
Yet no one plays regularly.
I have four staff members from across the globe as well.
Right now, I'm basically giving you everything about my server, so you can tell me what isn't getting players.
It's not what ISN'T getting me players, it's what gets me starter ones. They all say that mouth is the best advertising method, or PMC, I do that all the time, and I tell the friends of staff's friends to join, and some have, but don't stick around. Once again, I have a survival, towny server, with a creative plotme world as well. I have donor packs for the survival world, but nothing… Too OP. At least not for the amount of money given.
Thus, I ask the ones who have experienced this before, HOW DO YOU GET GOOD PLAYERS?!

I don't want just Tips here, I need hard evidence, and complete guidelines of how YOU got players. My server is fun, I love it, my staff loves it, and everyone else I told about it, gives it A+, but they just tell me "It needs more players bro! THEN it would be awesome!"
