I'm planning on buying a Minecraft server. I'm not very familiar with RAM sizes and need help on how much I will need minimum for my needs of the Minecraft server. I will have bukkit plugins, 60 player slots, dedicated IP, and to be completely 24/7. I have 3 questions.
1. How much ram do you think I need for this server?
2. I'm looking at GGServers.net, currently. Do they have good prices?
3. If not, what sites have really cheap prices for the service I'm looking for?
It depends if you are willing to go crazy or not. 5GB of RAM should be fine id say. From GGservers that would be $15.00 a month. Considering that you want to have plugins if you have the money and ant it to be reliable and to last for AGES then id get the one below it for $18.00 a month. This is able to hold 72 players (more while loosing stabillity) and ill get you tons of free space for future mod/ pluggin support or extra players should you with to do so. In terms of price I personally think that is very good. Especially considering that ould be around £10 for me because I live in the UK. Then again I have never used this host which means I can't give you a direct oppinion but if you want what I would do ere I in your position… I would get the 60 player recommended package and then if you need more space simply uprgade to the 72 player package. (Assunming it lets you)

You could host 24 uses with 2 gigs of RAM. Tripling that should handled 60 users just fine.
