So, my server is run by a company, but I want to know how many gigabytes I should have allocated to it. I play off a mac, but most of my other players (we have at least 18) run of PC's. I want minimal lag (Zero if possible). I was thinking 2-3, most likely 2. What do you think?

Do as much as possible, especially with 18+ players, if your thinking 2-3, do 3 just to be safe, you will be surprised at how much ram minecraft uses.

For a server with 2-5 people, 1 Gig.
6-15, 2 gigs.
15+, 3+ gigs.
