Hi ik making a minecraft server and when I do the run and the run.bat files it keeps saying error something something java.jar is not found in the exe file or something. My java is updated and everything I'm doing codes the videos give me. Can somebody post the right codes for the environmental one and the run.bat files. And if anyone knows for sure what's wrong please help I'm running windows 8 laptop and minecraft is at version 1.7.9

Use a more stable server program Bukkit if you aren't. Once that is done make a "run.bat" file. Type this in it;
"java -Xmx1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true
PAUSE"
