Ok, so my nephew got me playing minecraft and I was just wondering on what it takes to host your own minecraft server. I was told something about plugins and what not but not sure on what that all completely means. I have an idea on what I want to do in the server but no idea how to implement it. Does it require knowledge in coding or are there different resources I can get a hold of. Think of me as somebody that doesn't know much of anything about minecraft. If there's anything you can tell me or give me links so I can read up on it myself. That'd be great.

Server hosting can mean so so so many difrent things
if you just want to host a dedicated server that only works when ytour online, and runs of your pc then its not to hard
hosting a public server using a primiem host is a whole other ball game, it requires time and dedication.
