Hi, i want to make a minecraft server but i know that it can be dangerous due to hackers. I'm pretty good with computers but would like some help about knowing the dangers, avoiding risks, etc.

Buy a server from a rental site. Do not try to create one of your own. From a rental site, it will secure a connection for your own server and will not show any of your personal data, such as your IP address. I would suggest www.servercraft.co because they have excellent lag-free servers.
