I'd like to play Minecraft with someone who has their own private server. Minecraft has become such a bore to me so I'm looking to bring back the joy in Minecraft. I prefer someone without any 3rd party tools, has experience in servers and has Skype.

Minecraft was getting boring for me too; I found that downloading modpack launchers like the Technic Pack and Feed the Beast were really easy to do and have a lot of fun packs. The only thing to look out for is that some packs require a lot of RAM.
It's also pretty easy to make your own Minecraft server if your computer is capable of hosting one.
