Running a Java program as a OS?

Like a arcade machine, example as soon as it boots minecraft starts or MPickWare starts.

Is this possible? If so how?

I might be wrong but i'm pretty sure no. Not literally as an OS, you could design a system that immediately boots a program and does nothing else, but minecraft can't operate your system, so it can't actually be an OS. You would need an OS that would in turn run minecraft (or whatever)
