Recreating a game, copyright?

I want to recreate a flash game that I really love to play. I just want to use the concept of the game. I will not copy its graphic or its music. This is possible right? As I've seen many people copying minecraft on the apple store, also recently popular games like flappybird and 2048.

So as long as I do not copy their codings, graphics, music, etc… I'm fine to use the concept, right? I will be making my own images, adding extra features, my own character, a different title and fonts.

As easy as I can put it

YES! Like seriously, just yes. Why waste time explaining ****? I'm done with exams

Yes, that's completely legal.

Actually, there are really only about 4 computer games. All computer games are based on the same ideas. For example, you have a character that's running around killing things. Does it really matter if he's killing zombies or shooting at airplanes.

All great art is stolen from someone else. Star Wars stole from Star Trek and Star Trek stole from Star Wars, and they both stole from old movies.

You can't use character names, but you can create characters that have similar traits. Like you can create a character that is logical, but as soon as you say Spock or Vulcan then Star Trek is going to send you a nasty letter.

If you don't use any code, images and other resources from Minecraft, you can make legal new game!
