So I live in the UK, and I've tried to contact Sony mostly all day. Basically long story short, I don't get on much with a family member so they have told there friend to hack me. He's a little kid, about year 10, in much older I'm at college ect. So my PS3 has been acting very weird these past few days, it's started to get slow, take 10 minutes more to load up stuff like any other PS3 would. I have the PS3 slim, had it for a few years now, but still has lots of life time left. So I went up the school today, to find this kid and talk about what he done. Adventurlly I found him, he said I can explain, so I walked with him staying calm and he explained. He said, there are people on PS3 who can hack anyone, and apparently for no reason they hacked me. The kid himself is a hacker, so he said he hacked me to try and un hack me but I don't believe that. Also there's bank details on my PS3, I was wondering he could get them. He said no, but now all this stuff has happened I want my PS3 back to normal again. I use this certain account, for all my black ops 1-2 maps. Minecraft worlds, mostly GTA 5. I'm a high level on there since it came out, I have put lots of hours of gameplay to where I'm now. Also the worst thing is I need my PS3 at this time of year, I'm getting a ps4 for Xmas. And I wanted to transfer all my PS3 data over with that account and then obviously pay for live. But now I'm worried if I did could my ps4 go wrong with that account. Do I have to reset everything, help?
Somone hacked my PS3 help what should I do?
Nobidy could have hacked your account, psn servers are secure and hackers do not hack a single ps3, they would need to hack psn servers and what they are trying to do is steal personal information
they can't and do not affect your hardware or your ability to sign into the internet and it can't slow down your ps3
you are listening to a 10 year old lying to you or who thinks someone actually can hack your account and its not true
basically if your ps3 is getting slow you just have an old ps3 that is getting worn out or have corrupted files on your ps3 caused by a poor internet connection that makes updates you download fail to install right
your banking info is safe, nobody, , not even the big hacker groups with hundreds of members and more knowlege than most about hacking, can hack your ps3
what most people call gatting hacked is when you willingly give someone else their email address and password to try to get free games from another user and that person rips the off and that is not hacking aan account, its one thief ripping off another one
No, they can't hack your PS3.
At worst they could guess your password and gain control of your PSN account - but that's separate from your physical PS3.
This kid is lying to you and/or doesn't really understand technology. He's what the security industry calls "a script kiddie" - he can use tools or programs to disrupt other people's accounts, but he has no idea how they work, or even understands what's actually happening.
Anyways, ignore him.
What you should do: CHANGE YOUR PSN PASSWORD. Make it something hard to guess involving letters, numbers, and special characters like. DO NOT USE A PASSWORD THAT IS EASILY GUESSED. Things like password, abc123, playstation, etc. Also, DO NOT USE A PASSWORD THAT IS ABOUT YOU AND CAN BE EASILY GUESSED. For instance, do not use your pet's name as your password.
A good way to make a strong password is start with a regular word, and then modify it.
For instance: spaghetti
Use a capital letter: Spaghetti
Use some numbers: Sp4gh3tt1
And a special character: Sp4gh3tt1!
This is easy for you to remember, but hard for someone to guess.
Finally, NEVER GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN SONY. There's absolutely no legitimate reason for anyone to have your password (any password!) Even if Sony has a problem and needs to access your account, they can do this without using your password.
As for moving to the PS4, there's nothing to move. Your save files are not compatible on the PS4. Even if you buy the same game on the PS4 (e.g. GTA5) your online status will move over, but your local save games will not.
