PS3 Running slowly, and freezing?

My PS3's slowing down and freezing since this morning. I was playing inFamous, and there was a part where you had to climb a tall building and power up elevators for Zeke to get up. I kept on falling, so I rage quit, and turned off the PS3. I don't go to the main menu, and turning it off from there, I usually just pull the plug off from the PS3 gently, and it never really gave me any problems, but this time I pulled it out harder than usual out of rage (I know it sounds stupid to rage this hard over a video game, but I was NOT in a good mood at the time). A few hours later, I started my PS3 up again, and it gave me a message saying, "The file system on the system storage is corrupted, and will be restored." I pressed OK, and the PS3 did what it did, and restarted. It took a couple minutes to load up the users, a couple minutes to load the icons, and a couple more minutes to sign in. I've tried going into Safe Mode, and Rebuilding Database, but it's been stuck at "Preparing… Please wait." for about an hour, then I just reset the PS3. It did something, because my theme, and my games were gone, but the problem still persists. I decided to try redownload Minecraft, but it keeps giving me error messages. I played Project Diva F, and the game worked fine. The loading screens were going their average time, and game ran smoothly. I just got this PS3 a couple months ago.(it's like my fourth one already, and GameStop didn't want sell warranty anymore)

And I KNOW I will get an answer saying "OMG SWITCH OVUR 2 DA XBOXSH BCUZ ITZ So MUCH BETUR" No, I will not get the Xbox, because in my opinion, it sucks, and saying it like that will not convince me to get it.

I would format the hard drive to see if that helps, if not, then hopefully you only screwed up the hard drive. Pulling the plug before the power down messes with the motors on the hard drive and can damage them in some cases.

When you "rage quit" on these modern consoles, it affects the internal hard drive (HDD) usually games have a feature called "autosave" in which the game saves on it's own. I think you mave have quit during one of the auto saves, which will corrupt your HDD. If you go to your initial settings on the PS3 you can do a factory reset, however, again the HDD may be corrupt. All is not lost if this is realization. You can purchase a SATA HDD from your local electronic store (Best Buy), preferably get a 500GB or 1TB HDD. Ensure It is the same dimensions as your stock HDD. There are tips on YouTube in regards to installing the HDD on your PS3.

Turn off your PS3 so you see that glowing red light we're all familiar with.
Turn on your PS3 and HOLD the power button. Keep holding until it turns off.
Now turn it on again but this time it will be a little different. Press and hold the power button and you will hear. 1 Beep… 1 Beep… Then 2 quick Beeps at this point release the power button. If you release it to late it will just turn off again. Return to step 2 if this happens.
You will be greeted with a screen asking you to connect a controller with a USB cable.
Welcome to the PS3 Recovery Menu you've made it! Select option 4 "Rebuild Database" and press X. For info on what the other options do check out the FAQ tab.
After pressing X you will see this screen. Just select Yes to continue. Don't worry this won't takes hours. I have a 160GB hard drive and it took less than 5 minutes. Anyway after pressing X your PS3 will reboot.
If you have a HDMI cable you'll see this screen. Obviously select yes. If you connect your PS3 another way you'll get a simliar screen. Just select yes.
Press X and sit back and wait for a few minutes and let it do it's magic.
The rebuild database in action, pretty exciting eh? Like I said earlier this took about 5 minutes for me.
After it's complete your PS3 will reboot and your hard drive will be as happy as Sackboy is above!

You can try to open up the PS3 and then clean all the parts. Search in youtube for a how-to tutorial.
