Is Terraria worth getting into?

I never played minecraft before, and I know it's the same exact thing, only it's a side scroller.

The problem is, the game is probably to much fun and I could probably loose myself in it because they're a lot to do…

I say this because I have a life and don't have time to be building houses, digging or whatever it is you do on minecraft / terraria.

I'm not criticizing the game, just saying it's to much for me to handle.

What can you do in this game exactly? What's the main objective?

Someone explain this game.

And is it worth buying? Because I have a PS3 and it's 7 dollars on playstation store.

First of all it isn't a like minecraft

what sets both of them is that terraria has more weapons and has more rpg like elements

secondly yes it is worth buying

well the main goal is just to defeat all the bosses by finding and gaining better items to par with the more difficult bosses

Well, i'd recommend minecraft more. Only problem is it's only on PC and Xbox 360.

both the games are fairly similar in their concept, but the fact that terraria is side scrolling changes it a lot.

there's no main objective, you just do what you want and make goals for yourself basically. You collect materials, build things (anything you can imagine, you can build) and kill monsters. You can go mining for ores, to make new weapons and armor, ect.

the multiplayer is best though, especially with minecraft. It allows you to play modified versions of the game (or just the basic game if you want), for new and cool experiences.

i would recommend them both (but like i said before, minecraft is better) if you want a fun casual game.

Terraria and Minecraft shouldn't even be considered in the same genre of games. In terraria you must mine to collect better gear, and you need to collect items to summon all the bosses in the game. I would say it is worth buying. But if you do not want to be sucked into it, then I suggest not buying, because there's a lot to do in it, and I'm addicted to it.
