Why does rain come through the roof of my house in minecraft pocket edition?

It does the same on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox one. For some reason it does it when you water is just a single block above you. (Stairs as roof leaks too). Not sure why. Lava will leak as well. But just ignore it.
