Ok so I'm trying to find diamonds really fast and easy but my friend told when I hit the first layer of bedrock I Find go up one and I did but all i've been finding is gold and iron I've been mineing for about 3 hours and I'm about to give up. Please Help! Also how would you which layer you are on In minecraft PE?

I have more success on layers 12 to 16. Strip mine along layers in that region and you should find diamonds.
