Not really sure about the right computer?

Ok I'm about to go to college n buy my first laptop for college but am going to do some gaming on it nothing like battlefield but not just minecraft and have some questions ik the gaming is mainly based on graphic chips, processor, resolution, and ram. However what are good ones of these iknow there are different kinds but don't know what each is powerful enough to do. Does anybody know what is a good combination of these to look for in a minor gamer computer. I wasn't looking to spend more than 650 on this. But also would like it to have an ok battery life my longest class is about 3.5 hours so would like it to last longer than that
