I don't get it. Everything seems to work for people all the time, but for me it never f**king works. (I apologise for the language) People say it's easy to download mods for minecraft, and it is. I just can't turn on minecraft after I download the mods. I can't download a game for my emulator even though the guy in the video made it look easy as sh*t. I feel like my computer goes out of it's way to make my life a living hell. I don't do anything else, so technology is the most common way for me to have fun.

Upgrade your computer. Graphics cards and RAM get old/used up pretty fast after a while. Also make sure you're not getting any malware from those downloads.

There are a ton of variables for every device. (things like hardware, software, operating systems, drivers, etc), so its hard to troubleshoot something w/o knowing all the information.
And due to the large variance between devices, just because someone gets something to work a certain way, does not mean it will work that way for everyone.
for all you/anyone knows, you have a driver conflict from your mouse causing all your problems. (not likely your problem, but something like that can easily happen).
which is why its good to reinstall your operating system to completely wipe your computer from time to time. Since you may have downloaded/installed things which cause problems for other software/drivers/etc.
Its also best to install only what you really need, and not just install everything you can click on the internet lol (will reduce malware/viruses, aswell as keep your computer more vanilla meaning it will be less likely to run into problems like this)
tbh id say your best option, is backup data you need to, then reinstall windows.
you would then need to redownload drivers, and things like flash, java, directX runtimes, etc before you can even run most applications.
