It's really leggy and my pc isn't slow I can run fallout new Vegas on high and sky rim on medium just fine with no lag so why is my minecraft screwed I only have one mod installed so it's not that please help

Minecraft runs in java. If you have an old or flooded instance of java running, it will cause trouble. Or if you are doing things like streaming twitch while trying to play it. All of these things will cause massive performance problems with minecraft.
