I have the yogbox mod pack and i have built an airship with a 3x4 clear glass floor, 2 fence posts in each corner (so 8 fence posts) and 11 balloons plus the ship marker. I can sit in it by right clicking and i can slide forwards and backwards using awsd but i can't go up or down with space, shift, x, or y. Iv tried loading fuel (coal) by right clicking on it with the coal and pressing e whist sat in it but all it does is bring my inventory up and i still can't fly.

You haven't got enough balloons.

It's probably a case of not having enough balloons. Either add more or reduce the size of your airship to make it lighter.
