Searching for a minecraft mod compatibal with 1.7.2 that will let me have a cape that I and others from servers see. What's the best mod out there that is simple enough to install?

There isn't a mod that will allow players WITHOUT the mod to see your cape. Sorry about that. In order to get a cape, you'll have to either translate Minecraft into a new language or attend Minecon.
There isn't one for 1.7.2, but there's one for 1.6.4. Check the sources for the link.
