I have an idea for a voxel based video game for the PC centered around building and creativity. It started out as an idea for a Minecraft mod, but now I think it could actually be its own game, if done right. The problem is that I have no experience or skill in any sort of programming, let alone game development, and trying to learn has left me frustrated and confused. I've been working on this for months, but so far all I have is a document full of ideas and some unfinished courses. Is there any way I might be able to share my idea with a game company and let them develop and sell it? I'm not interested in earning money off of this game (although that would be nice) but I really don't think I can do it alone. Should I look into hiring someone, letting someone else have the rights, or just forget this pipe dream?
I want to make a game, but I can't code?

See if you can build the basic idea with Game Salad…

If you want to "hire" a programmer, see if they are willing to go 50/50. However, unless there's a sure thing that it will make money, most programmers will not be interested.
Always get the programmer to sign a non-disclosure form before explaining the idea to them (and date it…) so they can't steal your idea.
