How to get the pixelmon mod for minecraft 1.7.4?

Can anyone tell me how to get the pixelmon mod for minecraft 1.7.4 I don't know what this is all about my son has asked me to ask on here though, any help appreciated

I'm sorry to tell you this, but there currently is no version of Pixelmon available for 1.7.4. The earliest one I see is for 1.6.4. Forge got a bit lazy with the last two updates, and since most of the mods available need Forge, updating to 1.7.2 and 1.7.4 has been slow. Right now, there's little to no mods for 1.7.4. And only a few for 1.7.2. The rest are still at 1.6.4.
