How to get Mods for Minecraft windows 8?

The last update is 1.7.9 I'm not sure how to find the jar file. Do I need a loader? How do I find the Meta inf file to delete. This is for some one ells's computer. I'm not quite used to windows 8 yet. I do not know where to find every thing. Lol

This is how you get to the.minecraft u press the windows button at the 2nd left side of your space bar then type in run and click it when you get it u type %appdata% the press OK and there you have it the.minecraft
