Can I run a 1.6.4 Minecraft mod with another 1.7.2 mod?

Could I run two different versions of mods on one game? I know the answer's probably no but I thought I'd ask anyway.

No you can't. 1.6.4 mods can only run on version 1.6.4 minecraft. Same with the 1.7.2 mod. They need to be compatible with the same version of minecraft
