Minecraft won't work because of java?

I updated java yesterday and now my minecraft won't work properly, it lags and blocks keep regenerating after i've got rid of them. I uninstalled all the versions of java i can find on my laptop and reinstalled it but it still won't work

Try reinstalling minecraft, if that doesn't work use the version of java you were previously using by going through the archives.
