My son paid for and downloaded Minecraft onto our PC, which is an Intel Core 2, and we can't get it to work. We've already tried to update drivers. We've tried other versions. The best we've gotten is a blank screen with music in the background. Could it be the graphics card? If so, What's the process for that?

Your problem is the Intel Processor, which is very outdated for Minecraft. My suggestion would be to just get a new processor and hope that it works. Also make sure you have sufficent RAM as Minecraft is very RAM heavy.

Check you have the right/latest version of Java installed. Go here and the site will check for you if you have the right one and give you a link to the one you need if you don't. Https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
You say you updated drivers but double check you have the right ones for your graphics card. Windowsupdate will usually look for generic drivers for your graphics card but you might be better finding the ones direct from the maufacturer. You need to find out exactly what graphics card you have installed then you can look online for dedicated drivers.
You can try deleting the minecraft files and redownloading the whole thing again incase you got a corrupt file in your download.
If none of this helps, contact Mojang support and ask for assistance. They should be able to pinpoint the problem a little more directly. Hope you get it fixed, good luck.
