I don't know the physics to iron golems. But I spawned two villagers and made a house for them to live in near mine. I made an iron golem to protect them, and it's been there for a while but I realized earlier that it was just gone with nowhere to be found! I've searched for a while but he is simply gone. Did he despawn because there are only two vilagers? Or something else?

Golems can't despawn, so the only logical reason would be it just wondered off. Golems with out any monsters to kill will walk away like any other npc on minecraft. Try looking for it.

Sometimes they tend to wander off it wouldn't have despawned unless it died keep looking around but it most likely was killed

Maybe it died by other monsters. If it did then you have to make a new one
