So i downloaded magic launcher and i got it all set up but what should i use since there's no such thing as minecraft.jar anymore?

The best new custom build mod launcher is MultiMC, and is the best replacement for Magic Launcher. If you are just looking mod packs, I would recommend ATLauncher. Other packs come in other downloaders such as FTB and Tekkit
