Minecraft Java Memory Limit?
Added (1). I'm using a 64bit OS, and i have downloaded the 64bit version of Java, Inside minecraft i set the JVM arguments to have -Xmx2g, when i set it to 2g it displays as "Allocated memory 100% (910Mb)
If i keep -Xmx at 1g, it says Allocated memory 100% (1011Mb)
I don't understand what i'm doing wrong to get it to go past 1g.

Easiest way to see how much RAM is free, open the Task Manager and change to the Performance Tab. Look how much Physical Memory is available / free… Catch on to the word available… Do you even have 1 gig available?
Where you placed the -Xmx2G… Try this ( copy and paste )
-Xmx2048M -Xms2048M
