Minecraft inventory dark?

I don't know how I tuned this feature on, but all of a sudden my entire inventory is darkened. It's not a brightness issue, I always have mine at the brightest. But with my darkened, greyed out inventory boxes it is sometimes hard to tell some items apart.

By any chance do you have NEI installed? If you do double click the search box beneath your inventory.

NEI has a special feature that if you double-click the search box it darkens all inventory items except what you are searching for to make the item easier to find in large inventories. Double clicking the search box toggles this on and off.
