Minecraft: I'm STUCKED IN NETHER! What to do?

I built a nether near on my house. I enter the nether then all I see is only a floating island with my portal. I can't go anywhere. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You didn't bring building material? Why don't you just break the portal and light it again? Or maybe you could play a superior game.
