Minecraft hasn't been opening?

Also, I deleted my.minecraft folder and when I tried deleting minecraft then reinstalling it still won't open up. (like when press open NOTHING happens) I also updated my java, could that be why?

No updating java shouldn't have any side effect unless your at java SE 8…
try re-downloading the new launcher here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/...ecraft.exe
If the problem still consists reboot your system. Still exists then clear your ram, still exists then wipe your computer clean (Clear os) If it still works! Then get a new laptop or pc.
