Minecraft Connected Textures doesn't work?

So i have tried optifine and McPatcher for connected textures and while playing it i noticed that every other block gets connected but my chiseled sandstone and smooth sandstone, meaning you can still see the border outline of them rather that merging together. When i use optifine it says connected textuers are on in the video/quality settings. Same with McPatcher when i patch minecraft. I have tried reinstalling minecraft but still no luck, also i use soartex fanver and flows hd, both don't connect my sandstone, please help.
