All I want out of it is to play games like Dayz, Minecraft, and even Skyrim but still affordable, any suggestions? I'd say the max I can put into one is $250.

It depends on your taste actually. The cheap games are fine because I played Minecraft very cheap on an Apple product and there wasn't anything like the real version but I had fun on creative. But free online games are fine too like aq, battleon, etc, so you can try those too.
If you're referring to a laptop, no 250 dollar laptop will play any of those. Maybe minecraft, but you'll have to change the rendering distance to near, and even then you might experience crashes.
if you're talking about desktops… Same answer: just minecraft, and barely. If you're looking at a pre-built, it'll run you at least 500, and chances are that'll run Dayz and skyrim on low.
computers aren't like consoles: the initial cost is higher, but they also offer superior hardware and future upgrading options, provided you prepared for it yourself (ie building it yourself and purchasing a Motherboard with multiple RAM/GPU slots).
