Is open broadcaster software a virus?

I'm just wondering, because i have Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 and it lags when i play Minecraft, so i'm looking for the best, safe alternative.

OBS is great - I've used it and it's amazing for a free screen capture program. Also streams, which is nice. I don't think it's got viruses, or I'm screwed! I've used it for 2 years. When you record your screen, it's going to take a whole lot of processing - that's the down side.

You can check your computer's Task Manager > Processes tab then arrange according to memory usage. Check each one of them and review what program is that responsible for then uninstall those programs if possible.
