No Minecraft has exploded in popularity and its become bigger than COD It is still extremely popular yes but there are less people on vanilla minecraft. Most people have ventured into modded launchers to play the community side of the game.
And no age doesn't really seem to matter when it comes to minecraft, i'm 19 and play and i have a 25 year old friend who plays.
