Basically, which of these are better for everyday use. Minecraft playing, lots of youtube, watching movies, etc. And also, while you're reading this, would this laptop be any decent for doing the aforementioned?
Intel i5 versus AMD A-10-5750M?
Only Intel i5, trust me
Most Intel devotees do not read the product/performance comparisons. AMD processors are fine and the A series is better than Intel mobile processors in some ways. The GPU bundled with the A series processors is decidedly more capable than the Intel HD graphics. It also depends upon which i5 you are talking about. A "new" i5-4xxx with the HD 4400 or HD 4600 graphics is going to be pretty decent while one with the HD 4000 and older graphics will lag behind the AMDs a fair distance in graphics performance. The i5 will perform better in other things but realize that for things other than games or multimedia activities which are constantly using the processor, during most of your other activities the processor is waiting for you some 95% of the time and having a race horse tied to a milk cart really doesn't help deliver the milk any faster.
The best thing for you to do if concerned would be to search for the exact processors you are considering like this: i5-3370M vs A10-5750M
The results which come up will show head to head performance comparisons. The other thing to do is something like this: search for "minecraft recommended hardware" and then find the link for game-debate.com. A little way down the screen there are a couple of boxes where you can choose the processor and graphics chip of your computer and then see how it compares to the recommended hardware for that game. You will get very good performance if you meet or exceed the recommended hardware performance and will find it playable at lower graphics settings if it meets or exceeds the minimum required hardware.
A LOT of intel fanboys in here. It really depends what you want to use the computer/laptop for. Intel is generally faster than AMD, but AMD is Way cheaper and for the performance, you're definitely getting your money's worth. In MOST benchmarks they are about the same and any differences are usually moot. Intel beats AMD in some tests and vice versa. Don't listen to the fanboys if you want a real opinion. They will always tell you to spend more money just because it's intel.
The laptop will be more than enough to do what you need it to do. I'm building a desktop for the kids with similar specs to that and it will run everything you mentioned without skipping a beat. Plenty of memory and storage space for pictures/videos or anything you need to install.
I prefer Intel. (I read ALOT about the differences)
And Nvidia. (Same as above)
Hope it helps.
Intel all the way i5
Intel i5 is best.
