Intel core i5 vs intel core i7?

Hello i'm looking for a laptop for college and i wanted a laptop that had enough power to run games like halo 1 and 2, World of Tanks PC, and Minecraft. I already know the i7 is more powerful but i'm trying to keep it in a decently lower budget of under $600 since i'm saving for a gaming desktop after i get out of college. I would also like to know the major difference between them thank you

So you think the processor is more important to gaming the the graphics card?

A f/oin cell phoen has enough power to run THJOSE games! The wer DESINGED for low-powerd PCs. Tejh gaems themsewlvs are almost obsolete

I7 has hyperthreading and more l3 cache. Each core is capable of processing 2 threads at once, 4 physical cores, 8 logical cores.

I would go with the i5 since it will save you more money for the gaming desktop. For what your wanting to play even a i3 laptop without a dedicated card will work. I3 vs i5 vs i7 doesn't matter too much with your current budget what matters is what generation the chip is.

they will have numbers for example i5 5010u or i5 4200u. In this case the i5 5010u will be much faster than the i5 4200u because the i5 5010u is a 5th generation and the i5 4200u is a 4th generation. Look at the first number after i5 and you will see a 5 or a 4 these numbers tell you what generation the processor is. Almost always the higher generation will be the better and faster chip.

this information is very important because the 7 in i7 doesn't make it faster. If you take a 4th gen i7 and a 6th gen i3 and i5 both the i3 and i5 will be faster than the i7 most of the time and the i7 can still be more expensive.
if i was you i would look for a i5 that is no lower than 5th generation but with a budget of $600 you may find a 6th gen.
