Yesterday in minecraft i was mining some iron when i noticed a large cave system ahead of me. I begun lighting torches onwards until suddenly out of the darkness i got hit. I lookwd forward and saw a skeleton emerging from the darkness i quickly ran out of that cave and into the sunlight. Now i'm afraid to go back in the cave. What shall i do. Should i never go back in the cave? The mob was away in the darkness throwing arrows how can i fight it by the time i reach it it would have killed me with his arrows? I'm really scared?

You should not be a newb and go in there. It's probably despawned by now anyways. Or you could be a skrub and turn the gamemode to peaceful.

Mobs always lurk in dark places. Examples are caves and very dark houses and basically any structurewith no light. If you want to avoid seeing the skeleton again, place a lot of torches in the cave. Every place you go in the cave, plant a torch. Do not leave any dark areas behind. Also bring a sword and some armor. Since you were mining iron, craft an iron sword and iron armor.
Be brave and courageous, it's ridiculous that you're scared of a virtual skeleton. Just fight the skeleton. Go back in that cave and kill that skeleton!
