How to use cheats in minecraft pc?

I'm doing a survival island but how do i give myself some spawn eggs such as cows, sheep etc?

You can create a world with cheats enabled or you can press escape and enable the LAN, make sure cheats are enabled. You can then press 't' and type in '/give' to give you whatever you want. Or you can use '/gamemode c' to turn into creative mode to spawn anything in.
