How to ride horses in Minecraft Creative?

Yesterday I just got Minecraft computer version so I was so excited… I went on Creative first because I didn't want to be killed on survival right away. I saw a horse spawn egg in my inventory and I was like, oh yay, lets ride a horse! So then I spawned a horse and I had some apples and a lead(minecraft lasso) in my inventory. With the apple, I right clicked it to try and tame it but I hurt it instead, so I tried again and just hurt it again. I tried right clicking it with a lead but I hurt it again. Then I finally tried a saddle but THAT didn't work?

What am I doing wrong? Please help me, is it the fact that I'm on creative mode?

You have to tame it. Click on it with an empty hand. You will be thrown off, keep trying. When you see hearts over the horse you're done. Then you can use a saddle.

Hmm… I'm pretty sure you need equip saddle. If you did equip it then i don't know. Because you can't ride/control a horse by only right clicking on horse while holding saddle. And yeah you have to tame it first. Just keep right clicking on it to get on his back. And after some tries it should show some heart particles around horse. Then you're ready to ride it.
