How to make wolves sit in minecraft?

So… I've got a pet wolf… How do i make him sit? He doesn't have a collar, but I keep feeding him pork, and he hearts… I don't know.

I think the wolves will only sit and have a red collar on after you feed them bones then once you've tamed the wolf and it will follow you around and you can make it sit by right clicking.

Yeah wolves need to be tamed with bones first, then a red collar appears and you right click to make them sit. Feed them raw meat to keep the happy, you tell their happiness by the hight of their tail
