How to grow grass underground in minecraft?

Seeds, dirt, lite, done!

Without mods, the only way to get grass underground is to mine it from the surface with something that has the Silk Touch enchantment.

Once you have a block of grass you can put it down next to dirt underground and ti should spread.

The other guys method would let you grow wheat. If you want to get actual grass in your cave you can either make a dirt trail from topside down to where you want it and wait ages for the grass to spread or you can get a silk touch pick axe and go grab some grass blocks with that.
