My daughter loves the game, Minecraft. She wants to play it with her friends. But it won't let anyone else play. I have 2 of the same controllers. I have the console connected to the hd television with the HDMI cable… Have read the directions… But still no good. Please help because its just killing my daughter to not be able to play when her friends are over. I wish there was a page of directions to learn how to do it. Use to be that all you had to do was hit the start button on whatever controller you were using. But thats not working now.
How to get my X-Box to play Multiplayer on Minecraft?
If you are hooked up via an HDMI cable, you can do splitscreen. Just start a singleplayer game, turn on another controller, sign in on an available profile, and BOOM! You have it booted up.
If you are hooked up via an A/V cable (Red, White, and Yellow cables), splitscreen is not supported.
If you're wanting to play in splitscreen mode then (if I remember correctly, it's been a while) all of you have to do is start a singleplayer game with the first player, then turn on the second controller, log in to an account with it, and press start on the second controller. It should add the second player in on the bottom half of the screen.
This is interesting… When I was first reading your question I was going to suggest getting an HDMI. I see that isn't the issue. I did some quick researching. Some people claim that you need an xbox live gold account to play it offline splitscreen, which is ridiculous. It might be a bug. I'd definitely recommend emailing Mojang about it.
