Minecraft entered: Beta Phase" (when price for the game increased to 15 Euros… Or 25% final price) on Dec. 21st, 2010… The Beta phase also notes the discontinuation of "Notch's Promise" (All future updates would be free of charge) at the start of this phase (mostly for content addition, not bug fixes)… But the promise has been upheld for all users so far…
